Installation Instructions

One of the important early tasks we'll need to complete is Monit's installation inside of your Q2 environment. You will be able to restrict access using Q2's administrator group and configuration settings until you are ready to make it public.

While some FIs have policies in place requiring installs into their Staging and Production environment, we technically just need to do the installation and testing into Production.  If your processes require an install/testing in Staging prior to an installation into Production, this is something we will support.

The testing processes are pretty straightforward due to the pre-integration with Q2 (i.e., we've done extensive testing in advance).  We will confirm that the accounting data is flowing as designed and the Business Insights features are rendering properly with your theming and branding.

The process is relatively straightforward as outlined below.1. The FI will need to initiate the process by logging into Q2's Developer Portal via the link below. This will take you directly to the Monit page:

2. Click "Request App"

3. This will open up the "App Request" window.  After completing the basic fields and the acknowledgement form, this will automatically open a ticket in their Support queue.  This will automatically include your bank, Q2, and Monit on the ticket.

4. After the ticket is created, you will need to fill out the "App Navigation" section to share where they want the link Business Insight to appear on your menus.  

The screenshot below is an example of how the link would appear given the instructions above.

The rest of the work falls onto the Monit and Q2 teams.  Our engineers will share some links and information in the “Production App Configuration” section of the ticket once it is first set up which gives instructions to the Q2 Dev group to complete the installation.  This will be completed in less than 10 business days per their SLA, but we've found this has generally happened much more quickly.

At any point during the installation process, we need you to set up a couple of test accounts in order to do the testing once installed.  If you opt to do an install into both your Staging and Production environments, we will need two for each one.  

Once the installation is in place, we will:
1. Conduct initial testing

2. Ask you to do some basic testing - namely confirming the theming and branding is applied correctly, you were able to login, etc.  

3. Use the test accounts to take screenshots to update draft training materials and record demos for your FI.
