Signal Financial Technologies LLC, doing business as Monit in the United States, is concerned about privacy issues. When you open a Monit Account and use the Services, we need to process a certain amount of information about you and your business, as well as personal information about individuals associated with your business. We want you to be familiar with how we collect, use and disclose personal information. This Privacy Policy describes our practices in connection with personal information we collect when providing our Services.

Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings provided in the Monit Terms of Use.

We may change this Privacy Policy. The “Last Updated” legend at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised. Any changes will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy. If there are any material changes in the way we treat personal information, we will send you a notice to the email address on your Monit Account. Your use of the Services following these changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy.

  2. Business Information (data contained in, or derived from, your accounting package and general ledger)

If you received access to Monit from a sponsoring organization, Monit shares Identification Information with that sponsor organization. Monit may share your Business Information only with your consent to facilitate a transaction or complete a service you’ve requested. To provide the sponsoring institution with insights on the use of Monit, we may share non-identifiable, aggregated information about the small businesses using Monit, and how they are using it.

How?

In the charts below, we list the reasons we may share information; the reasons Monit chooses to share and whether you can limit this sharing.

How does Monit protect my information?

To protect your information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with applicable law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. We use industry best practices to safeguard and protect your information.

How does Monit collect Identification Information?

We collect Identification Information, for example, when you

  1. Register or open an account, or
  2. Sign in, or
  3. Give us contact information.

We automatically collect information in other ways such as through browser information, server log files, cookies, pixel tags and other technologies.

You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the information you provide to us. You can make changes to your information you have provided us at any time by logging in to your Monit Account through our website and updating your account.

Why can’t sharing be limited in certain cases?

If a sponsoring organization is providing you access to Monit, they must have your business name and other identifiers for billing and customer management purposes, so you cannot limit that. Also, if Monit receives a court order to share information, we must comply.
